What communities are digital media natives serving? What topics do they cover? What journalism techniques are they using?

From Abuja to Accra, from Manaus to Manila, digital native media are building new kinds of news organizations, informing underserved communities, covering stories often neglected by others.

The majority of their founders said they started their news organizations not because they wanted to become entrepreneurs, but because they felt compelled to cover topics other media neglect. They do so in different ways and using multiple platforms, tools and formats.
